Through the Waters

Anyone who lives near a great river knows its two faces: the gentle current of the dry season and the powerful waters of the rainy months. Isaiah does not promise that we will avoid the rivers. He promises that we will not cross them alone.

The promise is personal — “I will be with thee.” God does not merely send help from a distance; He goes into the waters with His people. The rising river may be an illness, a loss, a change we did not choose. Its strength is real, but it is not the final word.

If you are in deep water today, hold on to this promise. Tell God plainly how high the water feels. Reach out to someone who can walk with you. And remember that the same God who brought His people through the sea is with you in this crossing.
