“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 · KJVJesus did not say, “Come unto me, all you who have everything under control.” His invitation is for the tired, the overwhelmed and the heavy laden. It is an open door for people who feel they have nothing left to offer.
The rest He offers is deeper than a day off. It is rest for the soul: freedom from the need to prove ourselves, relief from guilt we cannot remove, and peace in the middle of responsibilities that do not disappear. It begins with a simple step — coming to Him.
Find a quiet place, even for five minutes. Name what is making you weary. Then pray the words of this verse back to Jesus and receive His invitation personally. Rest may not change your circumstances at once, but it will change how you carry them.
Prayer
Jesus, I am weary. I come to You as I am. Give me the rest You promised and teach me to walk with You. Amen.

For reflection
- What is making me weary in this season?
- What would it look like to “come” to Jesus today?
